NFP Treats: Good Stuff from Around the Web
Monday, May 16, 2011 at 9:00AM I came across a lot of thougtful nonprofit writing in the blogsphere last week...is Summertime in the air? Here are a few of my faves from last week.
Your Career
- Few us love everything about our jobs and some, sadly, love very little about the places where they spend so much time toling away. Jimmy Guterman gives new meaning to the saying 'Don't quit your day job' in this discussion about how today's professionals have more opportunity than every to transform their position into something better.
Engagement
A couple of great engagement pieces came onto my radar this week:
- Debra Askanase discusses why we should be focusing less on ROI and more on ROE (Return on Engagement)in social media activities
- Jeff Hurt talks about the different types of engagement and how you can leverage these at your next Meeting
Social Media
- Despite its sense of immediacy, Adam Singer explains that digital marketing is a journey. This is a great post for those of you just starting to get into or planning to get into the social media for your organization.
- Fran Simon has a few useful tips for those of us looking to do more to leverage LinkedIn as a social media tool.
Membership Models
- Here is an interesting take on a discussion that's been making the rounds over the past couple of years: Joe Rominiecki looks at the 'freemium' membership model and what this might imply for diversity and inclusion.
