TED Talks You Should Watch: Stanley McChrystal on Leadership
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 9:00AM
This TED talk by four-star general Stanley McChrystal gives a personal account of what he has learned about leadership during his many years in the U.S. military. I think a lot of what he has to say rings true for leaders everywhere.
Here is what resonated the most with me from his talk:
- A good leader lets you fail but doesn't let you be a failure
- Leadership is a continual learning process: A leader isn't good because they're right; They're good because they learn and trust
- Leadership is about building relationships, consensus and shared purpose across different experiences and realities
Good stuff! Definitely worth watching.
